The girls’ due date was a difficult day. Twins rarely go 40 weeks, so I never expected them to be born in September, but I did think they would still be with us. We had hoped this day would be filled with joy and wonder; instead it served as a reminder of loss. But, amidst the pain, we were also reminded of their beauty.
We decided to go to breakfast. At the cafe, we paid for breakfast for a family eating together. We also gave a generous tip to our waitress. We felt embarrassed by crying in such a public place so we didn’t stay long after we paid, but we believe that Rorie and Josie touched several hearts this day.
